6Project Overview
The owner had already replaced two fan units without solving the mirror-fogging problem. The actual fault was in the attic: the flexible ducts had sagged into low loops that collected condensate, and one had pulled off its roof termination entirely, exhausting humid air straight into the attic insulation. We cleaned the fan housings and duct runs, re-supported the ducting on a continuous rise, and reconnected and sealed the loose termination.
Challenges
- Sagging flex duct holding standing condensate
- One duct disconnected from its roof jack, venting into the attic
- Fan housings packed with dust that no longer allowed the blade to move air
- Low-clearance attic work over blown-in insulation
What we did
- Fan housings and grilles removed, washed and refitted
- Duct runs cleaned, then re-hung on straps with a continuous rise to the termination
- Loose roof termination reconnected, clamped and sealed
- Airflow verified at each grille after the work
