4Project Overview
This home had never had its ductwork cleaned since it was built. The main trunk had a continuous layer of settled dust along the base — deep enough that our technician could draw in it, which is exactly the photograph the homeowner asked us to leave behind. We cleaned the trunk, every branch takeoff and both returns under negative pressure, and cleaned the blower and plenum while we were in the system.
Challenges
- Roughly thirty years of accumulated settled dust in the trunk
- Numerous branch takeoffs, each needing individual attention
- Blower compartment and plenum also loaded
- Occupied home, all work completed in one day
What we did
- Negative-air machine connected to the trunk for the full duration
- Every branch takeoff brushed and vacuumed individually
- Blower wheel and plenum cleaned as part of the same visit
- Registers washed and refitted; the home was back in service the same evening
